Test Manager - Automation

Cheesecake is delighted to partner with this internationally recognised organisation, recruiting a Test Manager for an exciting 2 year project, delivering a ground-breaking development to the company.  What you do in this role will be something that will be recognised around the world, with hundreds of thousands of people benefiting from the successful project delivery.

Job Duties:

  • Ensure project test strategies are relevant and fully implemented
  • Ensure all project test plans are fit for purpose and properly implemented
  • Work with vendors to ensure a robust and efficient automation framework is developed and maintained
  • Take ownership and maintain automation frameworks as the project matures
  • Ensure integrated test environments are properly maintained and controlled by the project vendors and internal teams
  • Monitor and report on vendor QA activities and work with vendors to drive continuous process improvement
  • Ensure the QA and other elements of the SDLC are properly implemented, reporting issue to the Test Centre of Excellence (TCoE) Manager
  • Plan and prioritise own work in discussion with the Senior Project Manager, TCoE Manager and other team members
  • Maintain effective relationships across all stakeholder groups
  • Contribute knowledge and expertise for other projects when required

Job Requirements:

  • IT related degree or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience of software testing management on large projects including the following activities:
    • Overview of vendor test activities
    • System analysis
    • Requirements review
    • Test planning
    • Test analysis
    • Test design
    • Test execution, both manual and automated
    • Test automation, including the building and maintenance of automation frameworks
    • Incident management
  • Proven experience of the following automation and test tools:
    • Selenium
    • Java
    • Maven
  • ISEB certified (or equivalent commercial testing experience)
  • Practical experience of various development methodologies and an ability to adapt and work effectively to new methodologies
  • Excellent analytical skills and experience of analysing requirement and technical documentation to extract test conditions
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proven ability to use own initiative.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels and in a global development environment, with a high standard of written and spoken English
  • The ability to gain a deep understanding of business requirements and systems organisation wide, and the business implications of decisions made within IT development.

Desirable:

  • ITIL Certified Professional
  • Experience of the following tools:
    • Jenkins
    • Azure DevOps (VSTS)
    • Experience and understanding of a range of development management tools
