The Opportunity

Cheesecake Recruitment is looking for a great Oracle DBA who can help my client, and exciting new software start-up backed by its sister company that has a strong European presence, with the challenge of ensuring they provide top level performance to their existing customer base, whilst accelerating the company forward to gain new customers, develop new products and break into new markets.  The ideal Candidate will be familiar with Oracle SQL & PL/SQL and experienced in writing queries.


The Role

  • Participation in the creation and administration of development, test and production Company Oracle databases
  • Provide database management and monitoring, including performance, resilience and business continuity capability
  • Advise on the design, capacity planning and implementation of system developments, enhancements and deployments
  • Responsible for the production and maintenance of full and complete system build, installation and operational documentation
  • Working with the other Oracle Database Administrators in delivering company requirements


The Person

The Oracle DBA will be someone methodical, focused on the details and able to hit critical customer deadlines.  However, above all you will be a great team player, software isn’t built by individuals, so you’ll need to be a part of the team and ready to work with everyone to get the job done!

  • 2+ year experience of Oracle database technologies (10g and above)
  • Oracle Certified Associate – Database Administrator
  • Good knowledge of physical database design
  • Experience of performance tuning database objects
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills
  • Professional approach coupled with a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to work as an individual and as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn and take on new challenges
  • Understanding of SQL and PL/SQL development
  • Windows Server 2012, Oracle Linux
