The Opportunity

Reporting to the Director of Sales and Marketing my client is looking for a strong Head of Marketing on an interim contract to support their transition from a sales led organisation into a more market led business.  With strong commercial awareness, being comfortable in an entrepreneurial environment, maximising value will come as second nature to you.  As a creative, adaptable and resourceful personality coupled with your strong project management skills focussed on delivery you’ll be at home running multiple initiatives in parallel

 

The Role

  • Define the market and conduct segmentation analysis and market research
  • Monitor market trends and customer requirements, considering future technology developments, changing market dynamics and competing products.
  • Contribute to the product strategy based on customer feedback, market information, feedback from sales, partners, etc
  • Propose and drive changes/additions to product line to achieve revenue and profit targets
  • Own the full marketing strategy, including market entry strategy, and full accountability over execution. Input into the overall strategy as part of the leadership team
  • Evolve the existing brand through strategy development, positioning and brand building tactics. Build a differentiated narrative that resonates with the segments the company is targeting and ensure it is woven through every customer touch point – in marketing, sales, product, customer support, etc.
  • Build a corporate marketing capability that puts my client in the industry conversation, globally – including devising the corporate messages and POVs
  • Build a marketing platform - that integrates with sales touches - for prospect and customer engagement, and customer lifecycle management
  • Develop and manage highly focused marketing campaigns by segment & geography
  • Drive marketing programmes – designing repeatable and measurable processes, building, publishing (sales tools), communicating and providing guidance to the company and partner sales organisation
  • Work closely with the sales organisation to understand their objectives and challenges across geos, segments and channels. Put in place and improve processes and procedures to drive marketing programmes - particularly lead generation on a quarterly and annual basis
  • Identify key influencers (industry bodies, journals, newspapers, web-sites, etc.) and create campaigns that build both awareness and pipeline
  • Conferences / Events - take responsibility for ensuring my client is well represented at all major, relevant conferences and industry forums
  • Management of all external relationships with advertising agencies, PR companies and key publications

  • You’re an experienced people manager – a history of leading and nurturing medium sized, diverse teams is a real must have
